Plans are underway for Skibbereen’s St Patrick’s Day parade, with a bumper parade expected to take place in the town on Thursday 17 March at 4 pm. The parade is always a popular family event and this year the theme is “Celebrating 1916 – Our Centenary Year”. Local businesses, schools and groups are looking forward to participating in the parade with the Julia Hickey Memorial Trophy once again presented to the overall winner, as well as cash prizes for best community float, best novel/fun group and best theme with spot prizes also on the day too!
The focus will be on celebrating our centenary year and all are welcome to come along on the afternoon which promises to be a fun family event, with lots to see as well as music in the local bars after the parade too.
