Kildorrery Community Development Ltd and the Kildorrery Ireland Reaching Out Group are hosting a Gathering Weekend on the 6th and 7th of July to coincide with the Kildorrery G.A.A. Festival ‘Hillfest’ which commences on the 4th of July.

The Kildorrery Summer Festival will take place from the 4th to the 7th July with a family festival on the Sunday and live music in the marquee each night.

Events will involve heritage walks and talks, an old photographic exhibition and visits to Farahy Church and the site of the great writer Elizabeth Bowen. Visits will take in the old graveyards in the area for people doing family tree research.

As part of the Gathering Ireland 2013 campaign, the people of Millstreet Town in Co. Cork have organised the first of its kind in the town, a 4 day festival with a wide range of events from Thursday the 4th to Sunday the 7th July to celebrate all things Millstreet, all things Irish. A range of events are planned which cater for all age groups. 20 different events include: Busking Competition, Artisan Food and Craft Fair, Vintage ‘Show & Shine’ car display, Soap Box Challenge, live music by the infamous rebellious band “Natural Gas” and much more!
