Using The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron as a template to discover or recover your creative self this twelve week course also incorporates a fun, artistic workshop each week where the tools, materials and guidance will be available to create a finished product. Decoupage, acrylics, writing, acting, jewellery making, beach art and sewing are some of the crafts we will be exploring.

Alice Barry is from Cork and has returned to home ground recently after having worked nationally and internationally as a writer, actor, producer and director. She graduated from The Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College in 1995 and has worked extensively in theatre, radio and television. She co-founded Noggin Theatre Company with the ambition of exploring contentious themes through new writing and has had great success recently with two one woman shows; Violet Gibson; The Woman Who Shot Mussolini (Everyman Theatre) and Fruitcake (Everyman Theatre and National tour).

Her inspiration comes from everyday happenings as well as significant historical events which motivate her to shape and challenge herself and her audiences. She develops each piece through numerous drafts, improvisation, readings and workshopping; blood, sweat and tears. Not always blood, but definitely sweat and tears. She passionately believes that a creative, vibrant life can help to clarify peoples pathways through times of personal, social and cultural change.
