The Vangard Gallery was established in Macroom, County Cork in 1991. The gallery moved location to Carey’s Lane in Cork city in 2000 and it enjoyed great commercial and critical success, the most memorable of which was an exhibition of drawings by John Berger and Marisa Camino in 2005 in celebration of Cork’s role as European Capital of Culture.

In 2009 the gallery was relocated to its original stronghold in Macroom. Over the past 20 years the Vangard Gallery has shown the work of every major contemporary Irish Artist and it will continue to host regular exhibitions by emerging and established Irish artists.
