Clonakilty is located approximately 50kms from Cork City on the N71 Road.

Clonakilty is famous as the birthplace of Michael Collins, embodied in the town in a large statue, and is home to the most famous black pudding in the country.

Clonakilty has a thriving musical and artistic community and has been a regular award winner in the national Tidy Towns competition. Several of its pubs are noted for great impromptu music sessions with many big name acts taking part.

The town centre is home of the noted street theatre group Craic na Caoillte and the impressive Model Railway Village project which depicts many of West Cork’s fine attractions in miniature.
