Corcadorca theatre company are excited to be producing this brand new work by Enda Walsh. Commissioned to mark the company’s 25th anniversary, The Same will open in Cork on February 13th, 2017. The venue for this site-specific production is the old Cork prison premises on Rathmore Road, where it will run for two weeks, until February 25th.
This two-woman show, directed by Pat Kiernan, sees sisters Catherine and Eileen Walsh cast alongside each other for the first time. The design team includes Owen Boss (Anu Productions), Composer and Sound Designer, Peter Power, and Lighting Designer, Michael Hurley.
Corcadorca’s recent productions include Sacrifice at Easter in Elizabeth Fort, as well as two short plays by Enda Walsh, Gentrification and How These Desperate Men Talk. Enda’s multi award winning work has been translated into over 20 languages and has been performed internationally since 1998. Some of his recent plays include Lazarus with David Bowie at the New York Theatre Workshop, which is currently running at the King’s Cross Theatre, London, Kitchen (2016) A Girl’s Bedroom, (2015) for Galway International Arts Festival, The Twits at the Royal Court, and Ballyturk, produced by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival (Galway, Dublin, Cork and London, 2014).
Tickets for The Same will be on sale from mid January from the Triskel Arts Centre.
